COTA (Central Ohio Transit Authority) – Paratransit Facility

The scope of this project involved the design and construction of a new 104,000 square-foot building which serves as the base of operations for the Authority’s Project Mainstream Program (an ADA paratransit service for individuals who are unable to use fixed-route service as a result of a disability). In addition to providing covered storage for up to 104 specialized paratransit vehicles, this facility houses administrative offices, driver locker rooms, vehicle maintenance bays with hydraulic lifts, fueling stations and washing equipment.

In addition, the building contains a state-of-the-art rider assessment center which allows for an accurate determination of a prospective user’s physical and cognitive limitations. This new building is a critical component in allowing COTA to achieve their goal of doubling the size of the Project Mainstream fleet by 2030. The Authority is currently seeking LEED certification for this project.
