The scope of this project entailed the construction of a freestanding four-story addition to and the complete renovation of four existing floors in The Ohio State University Medical Center’s East Doan Hall.
Erected upon a caisson foundation system, the 62,000 square foot addition was built using cast-in-place concrete flat slabs on a metal frame, and features a durable brick and stone exterior. The project required an efficient logistics plan to address the very tight site which was located within a complex of four occupied and operational healthcare facilities.
